Cool Math Games

Playing cool math games online is a popular way to learn skills and boost your math confidence. We take a look at some great choices for online math games.

There are many great math games online and free to play for kids who find maths difficult, are frustrated, or just want a challenge. But are they useful? Research has shown that the brain's math and language systems are different, and some people are better connected. This does not mean that students should give up math, but some may need other ways to reach their full potential.

Math games can be an effective way to learn. A 2010 study found that the action-packed video game Dimension M surpassed traditional lessons in teaching linear algebra to 7th and 8th-grade students. Another option to increase children's skills and math confidence is to purchase math software. Math software gives parents more control than letting their kids loose on the internet. Here are some educational and fun online math games and websites.

Math

Cats The Math Cats website looks like a website from the early days of the Internet. The design, drawing, and animation are effortless but rather sophisticated in the game. The homepage has a cat that welcomes children. Kids can click on the cat and see a tool and game menu called Math Machine that binds the target to the cat. Try to get all the cats off the board.

The age calculator indicates a person's age, days, hours, minutes, or seconds. An 8th-century thought-based logic puzzle poses the problem of a sailor getting a wolf, goat, and cabbage across a river. You can only carry one at a time, and if you put them together, the wolf will eat the goat, or the goat will eat the cabbage.

Move the picture! There are games aimed at the elementary level through the middle school level. In addition to the cool math games, there's a math quiz, an art gallery, and an attic full of math definitions.

B Cube

B-Cubed can play for hours. As the player progresses through the game, the levels become more complicated, and some stories are complex to solve. The player must use the arrows on the keyboard to slide the cube through all the squares on the board until they reach the final court. It may sound easy, but it gets harder and harder. B-Cubed is one of many thought games, puzzles, and mazes on Coolmath-Games.com. Other games on the site teach players angles by shooting at moving targets.

IXL Math

This website has many great math games from preschool level to algebra, and the games are categorized by grade level. Each group of IXL Math teaches hundreds of skills through games. Example: At the 3rd-grade level, players learn how to add decimal points, place parentheses, and dozens of skills related to multiplication and division, fractions, geometry, mixed operations, and more.

#1 in Mathematics

This site covers math, from one-step addition to complex algebra problems with fun games. Students start at the level they struggle with and then learn at their own pace through the First in Math program. The program provides feedback to children to keep them moving forward. Login to the site is required.

Fun Brain

This website has 17 math games for kids to play. Fun Brain's math games are based on car racing, soccer, baseball, and other sports and activities. There are also games based on popular books such as the "Wimpy Kid Diary" and "Amelia" series. There are also online sudoku and reading games.

Math League

Math League takes a different approach beyond online anime games. We work directly with schools and homeschool parents to schedule competitions where students can compete. This site is designed for children from 4th grade through high school. In addition to the contest, Math League offers books and computer software and a help section for students stuck with problems. Registration is required.

AAA Math

This site isn't a gaming site, but I've included it because it may be most effective for some serious kids who need instruction. AAA Mathematics has math tutorials that carefully cover narrow topics to help children solve complex problems. For example, there are dozens of simple tutorials on additional concepts, each more difficult than before. These tutorials can be sorted by grade level.

Super Santa Kicker

Super Santa Kicker is more about physics than simple math. The most popular online games are not related to the "Math Games" category. The goal is to help the reindeer kick Santa into a series of chimneys. Of course, there are obstacles. The kids have to figure out the right strength and angle to get Santa through the challenges and into the chimney.
